How to Secure All Devices Connected to the Internet

How to Secure All Devices Connected to the Internet

Did you know that each device connected to a network is an open door that cybercriminals can exploit for #IDTheft.

29% of businesses went through a data breach caused by an unsecured device in 2020.

That number has doubled since 2017.

But the problems are not just because of cybercriminals and insecure devices.

Many consumers don’t take responsibility for device security and unwittingly open themselves to compromise.

For example, smartphone users often grant broad access to their device’s:

πŸ‘‰ location services

πŸ‘‰ camera

πŸ‘‰ mike

πŸ‘‰ contacts

πŸ‘‰ calendar

πŸ‘‰ etc

Users don’t even consider whether these permissions are legitimate and how the data they generate will be secured.

They may unintentionally open access to additional data on the device by providing this access, including very sensitive information like:

πŸ‘‰ system credentials

πŸ‘‰ credit card numbers

πŸ‘‰ contact information for colleagues, clients, friends, family

But there are simple ways to protect your home and its devices.

Just check my article about #cybersecurity. Link in the comments.
