In than a minute, we’re seeing bells & whistles competing for our attention all around us. And that's all the time. Our attention is constantly being dragged away.
No matter what, we almost always have something BETTER to be doing than what we are at that moment. So, why is this a problem for a marketer?
That's because:
If you can get your customer's attention, you get the sales...
But, it has become harder and harder to keep someone’s attention. So, something has to change the marketing end, especially Direct Response Marketing.
Direct Response Marketing is dying because here’s what it always has been:
  • Television: dying
  • Cold Calls: dying
  • Magazines: dying
  • Billboards: dead
  • Web Banners: dying
  • Snail Mail: dying FAST
  • TV Infomercials: dying
  • Door to door sales: dead

So, let me ask you something: if the support in which of copywriting was written 20 years ago has died, wouldn’t that logically mean that the WAY we write ads and commercials would be dead too?

Module #1:Introduction: How To Start Your Copy...

All the elements in an advertisement are primarily designed to do one thing and one thing only: get you to read the first sentence of the copy.

And that's the purpose of it: “What’s in it for me?”

You read it in the "best" copy : “We drive the competition crazy!” or “The Citi never sleeps", "The Ultimate Driving Machine", "The king of beers", "Nothing runs like a Deere" We call that "vanity" marketing...

But what about their customers? And what is it exactly that makes their website so much better than ours because they drive the competition crazy, never sleep, or run like a deer ?

Ask yourself: Are you speaking with your customers or just talking at them?

Making every message you send to your customers answering the question "What’s In It For Me? (WIIFM)" will not only clarify your products assets & company value proposition, but it’ll position your strengths and values to your users so they can feel as though, you get them and their needs.

"What’s In It For Me?" is the most important question your customers are asking you, so don’t forget it.

Your customers actually want to LEARN something or have an AH HA moment just from your sales process alone!

So, right there, at the beginning of your landing page you need to tell your customers what they’ll get.

Remember, if your introduction is not powerful, you don't have a chance, even if your product is awesome and the rest of the copy amazing.

I'm so excited about what you will learn in this module that
I'm gonna give you one clue that you can IMMEDIATELY apply to your copy: "The Slide."
It goes like this: Your readers should be so compelled to read your copy that they cannot stop reading until they read all of it as if sliding down a slippery slide.

Throughout this module, you’ll learn several different ways to apply WIIFM to your service, products, website or your brand’s overall value proposition, & see the difference.

Sell a good night’s sleep – not the mattress.

Module#2: Storytelling: “Why does everybody need to talk about everything”

Remember Don Draper from Mad Men? He made a killing selling the promise of happiness. But the sad reality hit him when he was least expecting it.

His marriage appeared picture-perfect, yet Don always felt something was missing.

Seeking comfort in affairs, alcohol and an obsessive dedication to his advertising agency he was hoping for a second chance.

In spite of his personal struggles, Don pursues challenges at work, starting a new advertising agency with his partners. Then, he merges it with his rival in the pursuit of a bigger business.

But professional success does not provide the solace Don seeks, and he can't escape the feeling that he is a fraud, finally revealing his impoverished childhood in a meeting with Hershey’s. With a chance to walk away, Don instead finds a renewed hunger for his work and starts again from the beginning, working his way up in his own company and striving to build more meaningful relationships with his colleagues and his children.

The Purpose of storytelling is to establish RELATABILITY.

Most people talk too much about themselves, when they should talk about YOU, the consumer.

We think that story is all about US. We think that the story is supposed to be about OUR life journey. Worst of all, many use the story to talk about all the AWARDS they’ve won and big things they did… This works well in the "About me" section, not in ethe sales page.

Because, that works against you.

Think about Don Draper and answer that question:

If I ask you: “Hey, you should write ads, copy, and texts in your website with the same convincing power as Dan Draper, why don’t you?” Your answer to me will likely be…

“I’m not Don Draper.”

Exactly. You are not Don Draper "yet."

But, if I tell you that
you can "learn" to be like him
, would you at least give it a try? Especially with a

The key in the STORY section is to tell the story of discovering your product, not your personal story. You need to make sure someone can RELATE to you.

So, there you are,
this is another trick that you can IMMEDIATELY use in your copy
: make your story exciting by showing just how tough it was to find your product or solution.

By the time I am done teaching you how to tell stories, trust me - not just copywriting - you’ll become the person who has crowds around them at every dinner party you visit!

In my content, I write words. In my copy, I sell SOLUTIONS.

Module #3:Content: “Think about what your product “does”, not “is”- and demonstrate this.”

Purpose: Build Credibility Through Content (Not Hype)

It's true that in the good ol' days, copywriters were NOT supposed to add content to their marketing, but that’s not true anymore.

Today, you customer is smarter than that. If you only go with formulas and hype, you’re never going to reach the sale.

Remember, your customers have too many choices. They can easily hit the BACK button. What the consumers are expecting is immediate value, like a "AH HA "moments! They want to be able to learn something JUST from your pitch alone.

So, the key to getting a sale in your sales message is to make sure you create at least 3 to 5 “AH HA” moments in your copywriting.

That’s right.

You need to now deliver value, show your expertise and prove to the consumer through your CONTENT that you have amazing knowledge for them.

In my training, I show you how to do this using a few key elements:
  • Linear thinking…
  • Diagrams…
  • Focusing on the WHAT, not HOW…
Remember one thing: The sale happens in the CONTENT section. If you don’t get the sale here, it’s lost forever.

And that's another trick you can immediately apply to your copy: teach them something while selling them...

Many businesses compete on price is because they can’t prove what value they offer, so they’re stuck with only one selling point: cheapness.

Module #4:Transition: "What? Now you want to charge me?

Purpose: Answer the WHY...

Something that is FREE has NO VALUE...

The first value you place into something is how much efforts it cost you to get it.

Say you want to download a free training on the internet and the only thing you have to do is click on an orange button. Totally free. Do you read it? Probably not.

Now, let do the same but this time, it's not entirely free, you have to give me your name and email, then you had to go to your inbox, click on the confirm button, wait for the 2nd email, etc... It did not cost you money, but it was not entirely free. Do you read it? I'm sure some of you do.

Now, say the exact same book is on sale on Amazon for $9.99. You buy it. Do you read it? I'm sure most of you probably read it...

What does that tell you about pricing?

IAt the moment of closing the sale, explain to them quickly WHY you have to charge them money.

Be realistic and be truthful. That is the easiest way to set your consumer up in the right mindset before you go into the pitch.

And that's the Ah-Ha moment # 4: If you sell very expensive products, use this argument: When something costs us nothing, we tend to invest the same amount in it: nothing.
